USGS has reported several minor earthquakes in the last few days near New Madrid, a town infamous for some of the most damaging earthquakes in American history in the early 1800s. At this point, USGS still says that there is no way to predict when another devastating earthquake could occur, other than saying it might happen sometime in the next 50 years.
