Multiple Felonies Follow Domestic Violence Incident

Vanzant, MO. – A man from Mountain Grove is facing felony charges after an event of domestic violence back in July.

This situation began when an individual contacted emergency dispatch to ask for assistance in handling an adult male, who was committing domestic violence and damaged their vehicle while they were getting away.

Deputy Aaron Box of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department made contact with the victim and took note of a large amount of damage to their vehicle. Shortly after, the assailant, identified as Tyler Mayfield, 31 of Mountain Grove, contacted law enforcement and stated he was willing to meet.

Mayfield was taken into custody at the intersection of 76 and EE near Vanzant, and was noted to have several cuts on his arms from the broken window and vehicle mirror. Mayfield admitted to the damage and was taken to the Douglas County Jail on a 24-hour hold. He is facing charges of Felony 1st Degree Domestic Assault, Felony Armed Criminal Action, and Felony 1st Degree Property Damage.
