West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Police Department recently announced the date, time, and place for their participation in the annual National Night Out.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make you feel safer in your neighborhood. This is nationally sponsored by NATW, ADT, Starbucks, Associa, L.E.A.D., and co-sponsored locally by the City of West Plains. Neighborhoods throughout West Plains are invited to join over 38 million neighborhoods across 18,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide.
Neighbors throughout West Plains are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights, and spend the evening outside with law enforcement officers and neighbors. Most communities will also host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits, and more.
On August 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the West Plains Police Department will be available at the Lincoln School-West Plains for National Nights Out. If individuals want to host their event please fill out a form, which will also be available at the Police Department. The form is not required to host an event but it will help the department find the events to attend them.
