West Plains, MO. – The National Society, the Sons of the American Revolution, recently put together a newly chartered chapter in Howell County, and have elected officers as a part of it.
This swearing in and official charter happened on April 13th of this year. Meetings have been established as the VFW in West Plains on South 63, with meeting times being at 5pm on every first Saturday of the month.
The forming of this chapter of NSSAR required a minimum of 15 individuals being listed as members. The chapter has been named the Josiah Howell Chapter, and the president has been announced as Wayne Jones.
Those who are involved with this organization have already taken part in a Memorial Day event that took place at Oak Lawn Cemetery, where they read off names of Vietnam veterans who died in action. They plan to take part in the 4th of July Parade in Willow Springs next.
