Nearly 14k Deer Hunted; Two Local Counties in Top Three

Jefferson City, MO. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) are reporting that preliminary numbers from this year’s youth portion of the firearms deer season ended with nearly 14 thousand deer harvested.

This number is currently sitting at 13,923, beating last year’s volume by over 2000.

The top counties in this season’s harvests are Frankly County at 285, Howell trailing behind slightly with 273, and Texas County taking up third at 265.

The counts for the remaining counties in our area are as follows:

Douglas County: 218

Oregon: 159

Ozark: 131

Shannon: 128

Wright: 196.
