West Plains, MO. – On Monday, April 25, 2022, in front of members of the Police Department, Officer Jacob Brixey was sworn in as newly commissioned officer of the West Plains Police Department by City Clerk, Allison Skinner.
Officer Brixey was hired by the City of West Plains on November 8, 2021. Officer Brixey attended the sixteen-week Police Academy held at the Law Enforcement Training Institute in Columbia, Missouri since January 4, 2022.
Officer Brixey graduated from the academy on Friday, April 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Brixey did quite well in the academy where he received several recognitions. Brixey received “Perfect Attendance,” third place in “Academics,” and “Best All-Around Recruit.”
Brixey will now begin his Field Training Officer Program working with one of the department’s Field Training Officers utilizing the skills he learned in the academy during the next ten to twelve weeks.
