Newest Bear Sighting in Thayer, MO

Thayer, MO. – Bears are becoming more common in our Ozarks listening area, with the drought drawing the creatures out of their habitats, and numbers increasing across the region. The most recent sighting has been reported on September 1st in the Thayer area.

The sighting happened in the area of W Highway, according to the Thayer Police Department. Pictures of the bear depict a smaller cub, as has been the case in most previous sightings for this year. Keep in mind that if the animals are young, they have likely not yet learned to avoid human contact. Be cautious and bear aware as the year moves forward.
