“No Shave November” funds given to Shop with a Hero program

HOUSTON, Mo. — The Houston Lions Club is sponsoring the annual Shop with a Hero program once again this year.

The Plato R-V School District’s School Resource Officer James McConnell, took on “No Shave November” to help raise money for this program. Several staff members joined him in not shaving, while employees donated money.

Plato High School and Middle School principal Nathan Wilkerson presented Officer McConnell with a $425.90 check for the Houston Lions Club to help the cause.

The Shop with a Hero program raises funds throughout the year to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need to give to their families, siblings, and themselves in Texas County.
