Salesville, AR. – A man from Norfork, AR is facing multiple felony charges after an incident in which he fired a .40 caliber handgun into a residence in late February.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office began this case when they responded to a call at 9:05 pm on the night of February 28th. Information was received that James Addison Rorex, 37 of Norfork, had fired a handgun into the residence after a verbal altercation and being denied access to the residence.
James had come to the house earlier in the day and was told to leave, and residents continued to watch the man from inside the house. It was then that Rorex fired his gun before fleeing the scene. Two holes were found within the residence, with one of the bullets finding its way onto the bed of the master bedroom. It was collected as evidence.
Deputies proceeded to a residence where Rorex was believed to be. They did not locate the suspect but instead found a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was collected as evidence.
Rorex was later picked up and taken into custody on March 3rd by the Norfork Police Chief. He is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center and is facing charges of Felony Committing a Terroristic Act, Felony Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, and 3 counts of Felony Aggravated Assault. His bond is set at $75,000.
