SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The National Weather Service says several tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in the region early Monday morning.
A report released Wednesday night states an F-1 tornado landed near Bryant Creek southwest of Dora and continued into Douglas County roughly 13 miles before disappearing. The twister packed wind speeds of around 105 mph.
The storm damaged several homes, vehicles, and trees as it moved through the area.
The National Weather Service stated a tornado also briefly touched down in Howell County just west of County Road 5790 near Willow Springs. The tornado is estimated to have lasted for roughly 60 seconds and traveled a tenth of a mile, with wind speeds of 85 mph.
A third tornado also touched down in Douglas County near Bryant Creek and traveled almost 16.5 miles, destroying an outbuilding and hundreds of trees before disappearing east of Vanzant. That tornado had wind speeds of about 100 mph, and had a maximum path width of 450 yards.
