One Arrested in Gainesville on Felony Charges of Harassment and Resisting Arrest

Gainesville, MO. – The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a Gainesville resident after reports of harassment continued to escalate.

According to the probable cause affidavit on the arrest, the suspect, Charles Berger, 27 of Gainesville, had sent over 100 calls and texts to victim parties, consistently threatening a pair of individuals. This even spread to an uninvolved party who resided at a residence once lived in by one of the victims.

This had led to an eventual confrontation between Berger and Deputy Josh Sherman following a warrant on harassment charges. Berger argued with the deputy on the validity of his warrant and resisted arrest before being forced into custody.

Charles Berger is now facing charges of Felony 1st Degree Harassment, Felony Resisting Arrest, and a Misdemeanor of Disturbing the Peace.
