One Dead, One Seriously Injured in Marshfield Crash

Marshfield, MO. – One young adult was injured and another was killed in an overturn and ejection crash on Eastbound I-44 on Sunday, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A 21-year-old Marshfield resident, Alexander Witt, 21, was driving a 2009 Ford Escape Eastbound on I-44 when he ran off the roadway at 3:05am. They then struck an embankment and overturned the vehicle, totaling it. The passenger of the vehicle, Madison Bell, 18 of Springfield, was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash and was ejected.

Bell was killed when an unknown vehicle struck her while she was on the roadway. The vehicle did not stop after striking Bell. She was pronounced as deceased at 3:45am.

Witt was seriously injured and was taken to Mercy in Springfield for treatment.
