Missouri continues to see record numbers of new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. Local public health experts with the One for All Missouri campaign are urging Missourians to do everything possible to stop the spread and reduce the strain on our hospitals.
- Hospitals are at or nearing capacity statewide. If possible, seek care elsewhere.
- If you are not sure if you should go to the hospital, call your doctor or 911.
- Take your medications so you don’t need to be hospitalized.
- Be extremely careful. Accident victims could easily catch COVID while waiting for care in the hospital.
- Informal gatherings among friends and families are contributing to the high number of COVID cases in our state. Keep your loved ones safe by minimizing contact with people you do not live with.
- Adapt your Thanksgiving traditions this year. Plan to celebrate, but not congregate.
- If you live close to your family, prepare traditional Thanksgiving dishes and deliver them to loved ones outside your household instead of eating together.
- Connect to loved ones by phone or video chat. Try playing games on Zoom.
- Limit your exposure to the virus to protect yourself and the people around you.
- Wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth.
- Stay home as much as possible. Limit your outings to only necessary trips.
- Use curbside pickup instead of shopping or eating indoors.
- Wash your hands frequently, with soap, for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Stay home if you or anyone in your home is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
- The flu vaccine is especially important this year.
- The flu is a vaccine-preventable illness, but still hospitalizes thousands of people each year. We need to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations to reduce the pressure on the healthcare system.
- The flu vaccine protects you and the people around you. As more people are vaccinated, it becomes harder for the flu to spread.
- The flu and COVID-19 can have similar symptoms. By preventing the spread of flu, we can decrease the number of people who need to be quarantined or isolated for these symptoms.
- It is not too late to get your flu shot. Find a flu shot near you today.
