One Seriously Injured in Bunker Crash

A New Bloomfield woman was seriously injured early Friday morning in a head‑on crash east of Bunker.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 3:10 a.m. on Highway 72, six miles east of town. Troopers say a westbound 2009 Subaru Outback crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2016 Freightliner. After impact, the Freightliner continued off the left side of the road and hit a tree.

The Subaru’s driver, a 61‑year‑old woman, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries. She was flown by air ambulance to Mercy South in St. Louis.

The Freightliner’s driver, a 56‑year‑old man from Belleview, was not reported injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Trooper E.J. Raya assisted with the investigation.
