Out Of State Driver Injured After Getting Hit In Summersville

Summersville, MO – According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a female from Louisiana was injured this afternoon after getting rear-ended in Summersville, Missouri.

At 12:10, 67-year-old Nancy Cooley was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield after getting hit from behind and pushed into a ditch. This occurred when 24-year-old William Grammar, headed northbound, failed to stop and rear-ended her. He then traveled off the right side of the roadway, hitting two mailboxes, before coming to a complete stop. Both Grammar and Cooley failed to wear their safety devices.

Grammar did not seek medical treatment and only had moderate damage to his car, while Cooley’s vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene. This crash was investigated by Trooper L.J. Combs, Corproal M. Barron, and Master Sergeant C.A. Kimes of Troop G.
