Outdoor Stage Planned for Downtown West Plains

West Plains, MO. – Construction has begun on plans for an underutilized area near the West Plains Square, with plans for the area being an outdoor stage for public enjoyment and various events.

This area is located right next to Luster Arcade, which, in the past few years has also received a facelift with the painting of a pair of murals by Bolaji Ogunwo. These murals will give the planned stage a poignant, beautiful backdrop.

This construction is being moved forward as a group effort between several entities. Local residents and partners on this project, Emily Edward Long, Luke Long, and Jeff Tune all stepped in recently to provide information on the construction and plans.

Infrastructure on this project is expected to be complete by spring.

The intended purpose of this project is to provide more green space for the area, as well as further propel the West Plains downtown area as being a hub for local music, food, and the arts.

Further updates will be coming down the line as progress is made, and make sure to look out for other events coming up next month around West Plains.
