West Plains, MO. – Ozark Action Incorporated, a local non-profit 501c3 dedicated to the betterment of Ozarks residents’ quality of life, continues to stay very active with their Weatherization Program. This program makes a serious difference especially as we go into the more temperature-extreme times of the year.
This program is a free service to homeowners and renters who live within the area, and includes workers adding insulation, sealants, and other thermal improvements to the applicant’s home.
Applications are available online at the Ozark Action Inc website, and must be filled out with information including:
- Proof of home ownership (deed, mortgage, current home ownership insurance declaration page, or paid property tax with name and address OR tile, current paid property tax or homeowner declaration page for mobile home) or if they rent, their landlord’s info
- Copy of social security card for head of household
- Proof of income for the previous 3 months for all household members
- Utility bill (natural gas, electric) and account numbers (address must be on the bill).
While the current waitlist for this program is roughly 12 months, the sooner one applies, the sooner they’ll be able to get through the list. The waitlist is, however, also affected by qualifications of the applicant, including veteran status, age, being disabled, and more.
