Ozark County Sheriff arrests man wanted for stalking

Gainesville, MO – A Felony Warrant for the arrest of ORVAL DON “DONNIE” MERRIMAN was issued on September 17, 2021 in Ozark County.
 
Mr. Merriman is charged with:
Stalking – 1st Degree FELONY D
Unlawful Possession Of A Firearm FELONY D
 
Sheriff Martin, along with numerous Ozark County Deputies and members of the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force searched the area for Mr. Merriman throughout the weekend.
On Sunday, September 19, 2021 Deputy Miller spotted a boat in the water as he crossed the Theodosia Bridge that appeared to be having mechanical issues. Upon closer inspection, Deputy Miller was able to positively identify the individual on the boat as Mr. Merriman.
Sheriff Martin, additional deputies and members of the MJTF were notified and set up a perimeter around the area. A private citizen offered and provided a watercraft for Sheriff Martin and Deputy Miller to use to make contact with Mr. Merriman.
Upon contact, Mr. Merriman was instructed to return to the Theodosia Marina where deputies were waiting to take him into custody.
Mr. Merriman was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in the Ozark County Jail without bond.
All subjects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
