55-year-old Mark Ault was the man killed in the accident. According to the probable cause statement, Collins was attempting to leave in Ault’s vehicle and when he tried to stop her, she then accelerated the vehicle and slammed on her brakes. This sent him over the hood of the truck, resulting in serious injuries. Ault was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment where he died from his head trauma the next day.

This was not the first domestic dispute deputies have responded to at the residence. Collins is being held at the Ozark County Jail without bond.
