Ozark Woman Arrested in Attempted Kidnapping Case

Ozark, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has made an official statement regarding an event where an Ozark woman was arrested on attempted kidnapping charges.

This case took place on March 30th, and involved the victim, a mother with her young child, being grabbed and yelled at by Tabbitha Evans, an Ozark native, in the parking lot of the Ava Town and Country Supermarket. Evans was not known by the victim, and was evaluated by law enforcement at the time of investigation to be under the influence of an unknown substance. In the probable cause statement, it says that Evans acted very confused when asked simple questions, and that while the criminal event was taking place, attempted to grab the child and asked the parent to give her said child.

Evans was placed in double locking wrist restraints and was taken into custody on a Felony charge of Attempted Kidnapping on a $10,000 bond, and other additional conditions.

Sheriff Degase and Ava Police Chief Overcast believe this case was random in nature.
