Ozarks Healthcare At Home: Hospice honors Carl Owens, Local Veteran, for Military Service

WEST PLAINS, MO – Ozarks Healthcare At Home: Hospice recently honored Carl Owens of Caulfield, Missouri, for his military service with a “We Honor Veterans” ceremony. Owens served in the 5th U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War.

Owens was stationed in Germany and served in Austria as a deterrence of communism after the U.S. agreed to offer aide to any nation to resist communism. Owens enjoyed his military service and loved the food he tried during his travels in the service, especially schnitzel. Owens has lived in the area for 51 years. He and his wife, Joan, have been married for a total of 27 years. Owens has eight children and over 50 grandchildren.

During a special “We Honor Veterans” ceremony, Ozarks Healthcare Hospice Chaplain Eric Bowman presented Owens with a certificate of appreciation and Gary Walker, hospice volunteer, gifted a pin of recognition.
