Ozarks Healthcare holds Proclamation Signing recognizing Donate Life Month

WEST PLAINS, MO – Earlier this week, staff from Ozarks Healthcare and Mid-America Transplant joined West Plains Mayor Mike Topliff at Ozarks Healthcare’s Medical Office Building as he signed a proclamation declaring April as Donate Life Month in the city of West Plains.

Through Ozarks Healthcare in 2021 alone, ten families were served through organ donors and up to 375 lives were saved resulting from tissue and eye donors. Ozarks Healthcare works closely with Mid-America Transplant to enable adults and children to receive lifesaving gifts through organ and tissue donations. Mid-America Transplant coordinates organ, tissue, and eye donation, and now serves 84 counties covering eastern Missouri, southern Illinois, and northeast Arkansas that together are home to 4.7 million people.

During National Donate Life Month, Ozarks Healthcare honors the compassion and generosity of registered donors, donor families, and living donors, while recognizing the commitment of researchers, innovators, champions, national partners, and medical professionals who work tirelessly to save and heal lives through transplantation.
