WEST PLAINS, MO – Ozarks Healthcare’s Laboratory Services was recently awarded an “outstanding” accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Ozarks Healthcare’s Laboratory receives a CAP inspection every two years. The inspection is designed to ensure that the highest standard of care is being provided for all laboratory patients. Jim Renfrow, Director of Laboratory Services at Ozarks Healthcare, applauded staff for this national honor and recognition.
“There are three main laboratory aspects – preanalytical, analytical, and post-analytical – those three areas are what are examined,” Jim said. “I’m so proud of everybody. This is what it takes – from clinical lab staff, administration, nursing, and others, it takes everyone working together to achieve this kind of score.”
Laboratory qualifications, equipment, safety, and overall operations were also surveyed.
“This is all about our staff,” Dr. Mufaddal Najmuddin (Mufy), Medical Director of Ozarks Healthcare’s Laboratory Services, said. “They are the reason we are able to achieve this kind of standard and provide amazing care to our patients.”
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) is the world’s largest organization of board-certified pathologists and leading provider of laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing programs.
