West Plains, MO. – As an answer to an ever-increasing demand on health systems to answer for mental healthcare, Ozarks Healthcare is opening a Crisis Stabilization Center next Friday, on January 13th.
The Crisis Stabilization Center is intended to be an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization, is operated by the Behavioral Health Center, and is a medically monitored program funded by the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
This Center was one of only 6 in the state of Missouri that were funded from a $15 million dollar pool that was allocated by Governor Mike Parson back in 2021.
Plans to operate the center as a 24-hour service are in the works, but on opening, hours will be from 11am to 9pm, open all week.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 11am on the day of the opening.
