Parole Absconders Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

Mountain Home, AR. – A pair of parole absconders were arrested on April 9th in a stolen vehicle after the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office received information on their location.

The information was received by the Rector, AR. PD. The tip stated absconders Kalei Britt and Makaylah Riffle would be arriving at a location in Baxter County at around 4pm, in a vehicle that was stolen from Rector. The vehicle was found later that day along observation points set up previously, and the pair were found inside, along with fictitious plates being displayed on the vehicle.

Deputies took both females into custody where Riffle had admitted to stealing the vehicle, and Britt had admitted to knowing the vehicle was stolen. Both received felony charges of Theft by Receiving and Parole Violation, and are being held in lieu of $75,000 bond each.

In addition, both of these women were named as suspects in a separate theft case reported to the Sheriff’s Office on April 2nd.  They were accused of stealing antique U. S. and foreign currency from a residence on Baxer CR 18 where they had briefly stayed.  The stolen items were valued at $1,500.  This case is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and may result in additional charges.
