West Plains, Mo. – The most recent weather forecasts are calling for possibly record-breaking temperatures through the weekend. The City of West Plains is asking community members to conserve their electricity usage from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the remainder of the week.
Ways you can help:
– If possible, turn your thermostat up a few degrees to minimize run time on your air conditioner.
– Limit use of major appliances.
– Use toasters, microwaves, and other smaller appliances to make your meals.
– Unplug/ turn off unused electronics, chargers, and lights.
In addition to the Peak Alert, the city is still without one well. We are still asking residents to join us in water conservation efforts to make sure we all have access to water to meet our basic needs.
– Please limit outdoor watering as much as possible.
– Refrain from washing sidewalks, driveways, or other exterior surfaces.
– Limit washing of vehicles, boats, and other equipment.
– Limit filling or refilling of pools and hot tubs, tanks, etc.
If you have any questions, please call West Plains City Hall at 417-256-7176.
