Peak Alert Issued For Last Official Week of Summer in West Plains

West Plains, MO. – A Peak Alert for the City of West Plains was issued on Friday for Sunday, September 18 to Wednesday Sept. 21. The National Weather Service in Springfield is predicting potentially record breaking temperatures for mid-September with afternoon heat index values to range from 94-102 degrees Fahrenheit. The average daily high temperature for this time of the year ranges from 74-85 degrees normally.

The City of West Plains is asking community members to conserve their electricty usage from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the weekend.
