The Cities of West Plains and Mountain View have issued a Peak alert through Friday, July 8.
The most recent weather forecasts are calling for triple digit temperatures through Friday. Cities are asking community members to conserve their electricity usage from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the remainder of the week. The Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 9 p.m. on Friday.
Possible ways to help:
– If possible, turn your thermostat up a few degrees to minimize run time on your air conditioner.
– Limit use of major appliances.
– Use toasters, microwaves, and other smaller appliances to make your meals.
– Unplug/ turn off unused electronics, chargers, and lights.

The Boil Advisory has been lifted for the City of West Plains. The 1400 block of Seventh Street remains under a boil advisory.

The city of West Plains is expecting its water sample results this afternoon. Until then, the boil advisory remains in effect. Please continue to boil drinking and food prep water for three minutes before using.
REMINDER: Due to one well being offline, the city continue to ask citizens to be mindful of their water usage. This could include not watering lawns and filling pools.
