Pomona man arrested on Saturday for firearm charges

West Plains, MO. – A Pomona man was arrested on firearm charges following a domestic dispute on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

According to the probable cause statement, Danny Monroe Welch had been involved in a domestic dispute and brandished a firearm at his long-term girlfriend. Under Missouri law, Welch was not to be in possession of a firearm, having been convicted of a past felony.

The statement goes on to say that Welch used physical force to prevent officers from taking him into custody.

Welch has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of resisting arrest for a felony. He was held in the Howell County Adult Detention Center and released on Monday on a $25,000 bond.
