The Natonal Weather Service has released it’s preliminary local storm report on the Bakersfield tornado.
The NWS storm survey concluded that an EF3 tornado with peak winds of 140 mph started just south of Bakersfield and tracked northeast towards South Fork.
The final end point has not yet been determined.
The peak tornado width was 600 yards. The tornado resulted in three fatalities and one injury in Bakersfield. Several homes were destroyed with numerous homes damaged. Multiple cars were rolled 50 to 100 yards. Numerous trees
were also uprooted.
