The Ozark National Scenic Riverways, in partnership with the L-A-D Foundation, will conduct the Jerktail Mountain Prescribed Burn on Monday, March 10, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The controlled burn will cover approximately 1,836 acres located about four miles northeast of Eminence, near the Current River. Residents and travelers along State Highway 19 should be aware that smoke may be visible in the area throughout the day.
Prescribed burns are a critical tool for maintaining healthy ecosystems, reducing the risk of uncontrolled wildfires, and promoting the growth of native vegetation. The Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the L-A-D Foundation appreciate the public’s cooperation and understanding as they carry out this important land management practice.
