Prescribed fire is an ancient technique used to manage grasslands, woodlands, and old fields for forage production and improvement of wildlife habitat. It helps clear the forest floor of dead debris that can fuel wildfires.

The workshop will include classroom discussion on methods, equipment, safety, and why and when to use fire as a management tool.

For more information about prescribed fire, visit mdc.mo.gov/property/fire/prescribed-fire or call 417-256-7161 to register.
