West Plains, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has issued a press release of information regarding the man who was involved in a stand-off with law enforcement in Birch Tree on October 19th.
Early that day, at roughly 6:15am, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist the Shannon County Sheriff, Darren Brawley. The individual who was identified as Christopher Parsons had barricaded himself inside of a camper trailer on 3rd Street in Birch Tree after local law enforcement responded to an assault.
Information stated that Parsons was potentially armed, and a S.W.A.T. Team was dispatched for apprehension. Law enforcement officers attempted to make contact with Parsons to no avail.
After deployment of CS gas and breaching the structure, Parsons was arrested and transported to the Howell County Adult Detention Center, on various previous Howell County arrest warrants, and a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs and Possession.
