Houston, MO. – A local veteran of law enforcement has passed away. This was the former Texas County Sheriff, Carl Watson, who spent time not only as the Sheriff, but also as a Highway Patrolman, and as a military serviceman in the 60’s.
Watson was 80 years old at the time of his passing, and visitations are expected to be held today from 5pm to 8pm at the Houston First Baptist Church. In addition, the funeral service will be tomorrow at the same place at 2pm, and a burial ceremony will follow at New Hope.
The Texas County Sheriff’s Department took to social media over the weekend, posting this on the passing of former Sheriff Watson:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of former Texas County Sheriff Carl Watson. Sheriff Watson has passed away at the age of 80. Thank you Sheriff Watson, for your many years of service to the citizens of Texas County as Sheriff and with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Several law enforcement officers that are active today, learned from the experience of Sheriff Watson.”
