Ravenden resident killed in weekend accident

MYRTLE, Mo. — A resident of Ravenden, Ark. was killed Saturday evening after a one-vehicle accident in Oregon County.

A Highway Patrol report says 48-year-old Michael Brown was eastbound on Route V east of Myrtle when his Volkswagen Jetta ran off-road, overcorrected, and ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then hit a driveway approach and overturned multiple times.

The report says Brown was ejected from the vehicle.

The death is the 38th fatality for Highway Patrol Troop G for this year compared to 34 at this time last year.
