On 31 August 2026, a Dent County Deputy Sheriff discovered that Shawn Keith Hougardy, a Sex Offender from Mountain Grove, Missouri was in Dent County and was not in compliance with the Sex Offender Registry regulations. Hougardy also had a Warrant for his arrest for a Probation Violation from another County. Hougardy was arrested and incarcerated in the Dent County Jail
