Rep. David Evans Announces Reelection Bid

Representative David Paul Evans announces his candidacy for reelection as state representative of the 154th District.

“I’m excited to announce my candidacy for reelection. We are blessed to live in the Ozarks. Like many others, my great-great-grandfather immigrated to Howell County because he knew it was a beautiful place to settle and the best place in the world to raise a family.

As it was in my great-great-grandfather’s time, it is the same today. It has always been the people that settled here, that stayed here, and that later came here, that make this community grow and prosper.  It has been and always will be your faith in God, your commitment to family, your fierce independence, and your willingness to help others that makes this a special place to live.  Those things are worth fighting for in Jefferson City, and I continue to ask for your help in representing the common sense values of the Ozarks.’’

Evans serves as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, and Vice-chair of the Subcommittee on Appropriations for Agriculture, Conservation, Natural Resources, and Economic Development.  He also serves on the following committees:  Budget; Joint Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect; Joint Committee on the Justice System; Special Committee on Criminal Justice; and the Special Committee on Government Oversight.

Over the last four years, Evans has received several statewide recognitions for his dedicated work, including the 2021 Missouri Children’s Champion, the 2020 Missouri Supreme Court Justice Award, the 2019 Missouri Prosecutors’ Association Legislator of the Year, and the 2019 Freshman Legislator of the Year.  He has also served the last four years as President of the Lincoln Caucus in the House.

Representative Evans is filing for his third two-year term.  Missouri state representatives are limited to a maximum of four two-year terms (eight years total).
