Reports of Counterfeit Bills in the Ozarks Continues: Izard County

In the past year, several reports have been made from law enforcement in the listening area about counterfeit bills.

The latest report comes to us from Izard County, AR, from the office of the County Sheriff. The date of this release was yesterday, January 17th, and was issued from the Sheriff’s Facebook page. The statement reads as follows:

“The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating several counterfeit bills being passed at local businesses. This is a reminder for businesses and barterers to be observant of the bills being received and if you encounter a counterfeit bill, please retain the bill and contact the Sheriff’s office. If you have passed a counterfeit bill unknowingly, please contact the Sheriff’s office so that we can follow up on this information.

Counterfeit bills come in many different variants. Some may appear normal but feel inconsistent, while others may have abnormal notations on them. Ex. “For Motion Picture use Only”, “For Training use Only”, etc.”
Those who have information on manufacturing, distribution, or usage of counterfeit currency are asked to provide information to their local law enforcement organizations.
