SAFHR Mortgage Assistance Event This Friday at Missouri State University – West Plains

Consumer Credit Counseling Service, in corporation with Missouri Housing Development Commission, and sponsored by MSU – West Plains, will provide a mortgage assistance event this Friday, December 9th.

If you’re a Missouri homeowner struggling to make your mortgage payment due to the COVID pandemic, you may qualify for assistance.  The Missouri State Assistance for Housing Relief (SAFHR) for homeowners can provide one-time mortgage reinstatement assistance.

Requirements:

  • Homeowner must attest to inability to pay mortgage due to a financial hardship after January 21, 2020.
  • Homeowner must have a total annual household income within 150 percent of the area median income or 100 percent of the U.S. median income, whichever is greater.
  • Property must be occupied as the primary residence.
  • Property must be located in the state of Missouri.
  • Eligible structures include: single-family homes (attached or detached) and manufactured housing mortgaged as real property.
  • Homeowner agrees to provide all necessary documentation to satisfy program guidelines established by SAFHR for Homeowners.

Documents Required:

Photo ID, Current Mortgage Statement, 2 months of paystubs, previous year’s tax return, any default notifications.
