Jimmy Bell of Salem, Missouri was indicted by a Douglas County Grand Jury for Assault 3rd Degree and Property Damage 1st Degree, both class E Felonies. Authorities in Dent County arrested Bell on the said warrant and Bell has since posted a $2500 cash bond.
Bell’s indictment and arrest stem from an incident at Missouri Fox Trotting in Ava last June. Upon the Douglas County Deputy’s arrival, the Bell had already fled the scene. According to a witness Bell was upset because he had arrived late and could not register his horses in the event. Bell became irate with one of the Officials and began cussing and screaming at the Official.
Late in the day, as Bell was loading up to leave, he became irate again, throwing a beer can at the Official and began striking him with his fist. The Official fell to the ground where witnesses stated Bell was kicking the Official. During the altercation, a subject vehicle that was not involved in the incident sustained over $2000 in damages.
