Salem, MO. Pedestrian Killed in Hit & Run Event

Salem, MO. – A man from Salem, Missouri was struck and killed last week in a vehicular accident hit & run, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop I.

The time and location on the report of this crash places it on Highway 32, three miles east of Salem, MO., at roughly 5:15pm of Thursday, December 7th.

David Davis, an 83-year-old resident of the area, was crossing the roadway as a pedestrian before being struck and left. As this is a hit-and-run case, there is no confirmed information on the driver of the opposing vehicle, nor on the vehicle itself.

Mister Davis was pronounced dead on the scene by Dent County coroner Ben Pursifull at 6:15pm.

The investigation on this event was performed by Trooper J.S. Leathers of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop I, and was assisted by the Dent County Sheriff’s Department, and MSHP Major Crash Team Trooper B.A. Dettenwanger.
