Salesville Man Arrested After Firing a Handgun In an Attempt to Hit Another Driver

Salesville, AR. – A Baxter County man has been arrested after firing a .45 at another driver.

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at roughly 3:37 yesterday afternoon, after a report of a road rage incident happening on Water Tower Road in Salesville.

Deputies arrived not long and contacted the individuals involved in the incident. Reportedly, the victim was driving home, when Dixon Wayne Hutchins allegedly pulled in front of the victim to stop him in the road, got out, and after a short verbal exchange, began firing a .45 caliber handgun at the victim.

The victim ducked and reversed his vehicle to escape. Later investigation showed bullet damage in the victims vehicle, and a local house.

Hutchins claimed self-defense in the incident. In addition, a passenger riding with Hutchins was present, but she denied any information and would not talk about the event.
