WILLOW SPRINGS, Mo. — The Sally Hatton Memorial Chess Tournament will take place at the Willow Springs High School Bears Den on Saturday, November 23.
Registration for the event, which features several grade-level divisions and a group for adults, starts at 9 am, with the first round taking place around 9:30 am. Awards will be handed out around 3 pm.
Organizers say there will be team awards for the top 3 teams, awards for top three individuals, and medals for at least the top 10 in each section. Attendees should bring their own chess sets, if possible.
The entry fee is $7 per player, or a max of $50 per school. Concessions will be available. Players should email their information, including, name, section, and school to chess@willowbears.com.
