Serious Injuries Inflicted on West Plains Residents in Friday Crash

West Plains, MO. – Three people from West Plains have been injured as a result of a collision that occurred during the slushy, snowy conditions on Friday, January 5th. Two were in serious condition.

This crash took place on Highway 14, roughly 6 miles west of West Plains. The vehicles involved were a westbound Ford F150, and an eastbound GMC Yukon. The driver of the F150 lost control of their vehicle, slid across the center line, and struck the GMC head-on, causing both vehicles to become totaled.

Andrea Spaletto, 42, was the driver of the F150, and Averi Spaletto, 20, was an occupant. Neither were wearing their safety devices. Andrea Spaletto was dealt serious injuries, and Averi’s injuries were listed as moderate.

The driver of the GMC Yukon, 73-year-old Freddie Long, also sustained serious injuries in the collision but was wearing his safety device. All injured individuals were taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment.

Investigation on this crash was performed by Corporal J.M. Heimsoth of Troop G, and assisted by Corporal D.L. Nash.
