Serious Injuries Result from Wasola Two-Vehicle Crash

Wasola, MO. – Two people have been injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on the afternoon of May 24th, according to a new report displayed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper C.A. Edens of Troop G was the investigator of this vehicular accident. A Ford Escape travelling Northbound was struck on Missouri Highway 5, roughly 5 miles South of Wasola at roughly 3:20pm.

A 16-year-old male juvenile driver from Gainesville, operating a GMC Yukon, failed to yield while travelling Eastbound and struck the Escape. The Yukon then ran off the roadway and the juvenile was ejected; he sustained only minor injuries in the accident. Melisa Myers, a 51-year-old from Theodosia and the driver of the Escape, sustained serious injuries. She was transported to Baxter Regional in Mountain Home for treatment.

The teen driver was not wearing a safety device in the accident, and Myers is reported to have been wearing hers.
