Licking, MO. – A sex offender registered in Arkansas was found living in a Licking nursing home without proper registration, and was arrested soon after.
This arrest took place earlier this week, when law enforcement was made aware of the sex offender on Tuesday. The offender was identified as Carey Atwood, a 69-year-old who was convicted on a charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault in 2003. This happened in Baxter County, AR.
This criminal charge earned Atwood a listing as a Level 4 Sex Offender, which according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, is someone considered to have a habitual or serious pattern of offending, and is deemed a sexually violent predator.
Atwood had not registered with the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, which is required for convicted sex offenders.
