Shannon County First Responders Receive Grant for Defibrillators

Shannon County, MO. – The Shannon County First Responders have received a grant from a local organization that has allowed them to purchase additional radios and three defibrillators to aid in emergency response.

The donating organization is the Jacks Fork Community Foundation, which is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, and has distributed a total of roughly $400,000 to local community organizations since 2004.

The amount donated in this grant was $6,000. Currently, only one AED, or Automated External Defibrillator, is located in each town. These three new additions will be loaded into the vehicles of emergency responders, allowing better on-scene care.
