Deputy Sam Cummins has officially graduated from the Drury University Law Enforcement Academy after successfully completing all required Police Officer Standards and Training. This achievement represents months of discipline, sacrifice, determination, and an unwavering commitment to serving others.

For the past year, Deputy Cummins has faithfully served the citizens of Shannon County in the capacities of Jailer/Transport Officer and Dispatcher. During that time, he has demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic that earned the respect of both his fellow deputies and the community he serves.

This evening marked the beginning of a new chapter in his law enforcement career as he officially graduated the academy and took another step forward in answering the call to protect and serve the people of Shannon County.

I could not be more proud of Deputy Cummins and the dedication he has shown throughout this journey. Law enforcement is not simply a profession- it is a commitment to stand between good and evil, to serve during difficult times, and to protect communities when they need it most. Deputy Cummins has proven he possesses the character, courage, and determination necessary to wear the badge with honor.

I also want to extend a special thank you to Chief Deputy Edwards for having the honor of pinning Deputy Cummins this evening. Moments like these serve as a reminder that the future of law enforcement remains strong because of men and women willing to answer the call to serve.

The citizens of Shannon County should take pride in knowing that dedicated young officers like Deputy Cummins are stepping forward to protect this community and continue the mission of keeping our county safe.

Please join the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office in congratulating Deputy Sam Cummins on this outstanding accomplishment and wishing him continued success and safety throughout his law enforcement career.
