(The following is a press release from the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office.)
The Shannon County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a home intrusion that occurred a short time ago in the area of Alley Cutoff MDC Road, between State Route D and State Route 106.
A large law-enforcement presence, including county and state officers, is currently in the area actively searching for the male subject involved.
At this time, we have no information indicating that the subject is armed; however, due to the circumstances surrounding this incident, he should be considered dangerous.
Residents in and around this area are strongly encouraged to:
– Lock all doors and windows.
– Secure your vehicles and remove the keys.
– Keep children and pets inside.
– Remain alert for any suspicious persons or activity.
– Do not approach or attempt to confront the subject.
If you see anyone matching the circumstances of this incident or observe suspicious activity in the area, call 911 immediately.
Please allow law enforcement to conduct the search and avoid unnecessary travel through the immediate area if possible.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available and when doing so will not interfere with the ongoing investigation.
