West Plains, Mo. – On Tuesday, voters in Howell County passed a sales tax increase to help fun the local Sheriff’s Office. The sales tax is an increase of one quarter of one percent on purchases in the county and this funding will help the Sheriff’s Office purchase equipment, vehicles, and hire more deputies.

The unofficial totals of the Tuesday, April 5 vote for the tax were 1,736 YES votes to 1,100 NO votes.
